LINKS
What are Links?
A link is a navigational element that connects users to another location, such as a webpage, document, video, or section of content. Links can appear in text, buttons, images, or navigation menus and are often the primary way users move through digital content.
Links must clearly communicate purpose so users know where the link will take them before activating it. Screen reader users often navigate by pulling up a list of links out of context, making vague or repetitive links confusing and inaccessible.
WCAG Success Criteria:
- 2.4.4 – Link Purpose (In Context)
- 2.4.9 – Link Purpose (Link Only) (AAA, best practice)
