Employees

Do you need to change how you usually do your job due to a health condition?
You may be eligible for reasonable accommodations.

What is an accommodation?

A reasonable accommodation is any change or adjustment to a job or work environment that permits a person with a disability to participate in the job application process, to perform the essential functions of a job, or to enjoy benefits and privileges of employment equal to those enjoyed by people without disabilities.

For example, a reasonable accommodation may include, but is not limited to:
     •    Buying or modifying equipment or devices
     •    Job restructuring
     •    Modified work schedules
     •    Changing the physical layout of an office

Requesting accommodations

The application to request accommodations has two steps:

1) Submit the online request form; and

2) Return this ADA questionnaire form to us after your medical provider has completed it.

You can upload your medical documents at the bottom of your request form or submit them later by logging into your employee portal.

To request a medical exemption for the COVID-19 Vaccination Policycomplete the form found here and submit to ADAAccess@tulane.edu

Checking the status of an accommodation request

Once you submit an accommodation request online, you will receive a confirmation email, and our office will review your request. You will receive follow-up emails regarding the status of your request, but you can also log into your online portal anytime using your Tulane Single Sign On to check your accommodation status, upload additional documents, request additional accommodations, and schedule or change a meeting request.

For more on the accommodation process, visit our Frequently Asked Questions section here. For assistance navigating the request form and online portal, check out the tutorials on our How to Use Accommodate page. For additional questions or concerns, please email ADAaccess@tulane.edu or call (504) 247-1774.
