Accessibility Concerns

Discrimination

Tulane University is committed to and encourages a diverse, inclusive community that respects and values individual differences. Tulane will not tolerate unlawful discrimination or harassment by anyone affiliated with Tulane and will not tolerate adverse academic or employment activities to anyone reporting discrimination or providing information related to such a complaint. Students, staff, faculty, and visitors are strongly encouraged to promptly report concerns or allegations of discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation covered under the University's Equal Opportunity/Anti-Discrimination Policy (EO Policy) so that appropriate action can be taken.

The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE), in collaboration with the Executive Director for Campus Accessibility & ADA/504 Coordinator, investigates and resolves allegations of disability-based discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The investigative process involves an objective assessment of the concerns, followed by findings and recommendations as required. For more information about the investigative process, please refer to the EO Policy.

Accessibility Barriers

We strive to ensure that our campus experiences and spaces - including, but not limited to: buildings (dorms, dining areas, classrooms, athletic facilities, medical facilities, etc.), transportation, parking areas, events, course materials, and policies - are accessible and free of barriers. Our commitment to accessibility extends beyond the physical campus to any programs, activities, and services provided by Tulane. If you encounter accessibility issues such as objects blocking access areas, broken automated doors, inaccessible events, or attitudes or lack of understanding that impose barriers, please let us know. We will do our best to address the issue through reasonable means of accommodation.

Report Discrimination or Access Barrier

The type of concern should be listed as "Disability and Accessibility."  If you have questions or require assistance, please call OIE at (504) 662-8083.

Anonymous reporting is allowed; however, please understand that OIE's ability to respond to an anonymous report is limited. Please refer to Tulane's EO Policies related to confidentiality for additional information.

If you have an emergency to report, please call Tulane University Police at (504) 865-5911 (Uptown), or (504) 988-5555 (Downtown).
